Rally New Zealand recognises the importance of Sustainability
Rally New Zealand has developed a new environmental policy and is focusing on improving sustainability across all areas of our business, including running our events in an environmentally conscious way, with as little ecological impact on the environment as possible. We are taking our responsibilities seriously and have attained the Two-Star level in the FIA Environmental Accreditation Framework. We are now working towards attaining the Three-Star level accreditation.
Rally New Zealand Sustainable Initiatives
Rally New Zealand is excited to be implementing some great initiatives including reducing our paper usage, waste management and off-setting our carbon footprint.
Keep an eye out for our sustainable initiatives on event, and please ensure that you help us to achieve our goals by disposing of your waste in the correct place (compostables, recyclables or general waste), taking any rubbish with you when spectating on stages and car pooling to our events.
With the exciting news that we will have the World Rally Championship return to Auckland in 2022, we are looking forward to the new era of plug in Hybrid vehicles which will be mandated for the WRC top Rally1 class. In addition, the use of a 100% sustainable hydrocarbon-based fossil-free fuel will be mandated for these vehicles.
